We exist to inspire young Ethiopians and people around the world to love others as their neighbors. Our work nurtures neighbor-love culture that honors faith and elevates human flourishing, especially for the poor, hated, and forgotten. In all that we do, we seek to bear witness to loving God, our neighbors, and all creation.
Our Core Projects
Andrew DeCort’s writing: Andrew’s books have been called “luminous” by Cherie Harder and “the perfect fusion of simple and profound” by Shane Claiborne. His writing focuses on the ethics of following Jesus, practicing courageous love, and integrating honest faith with nonviolent action. Contact Andrew and subscribe to his newsletter Stop & Think here.
Prophetic: The Public Theology Fellowship: Prophetic nurtures courageous, faith-based leadership in the face of systemic violence in Ethiopia. Our pilot Courage Cohort connects emerging Ethiopian faith leaders with exemplary public theologians and pastors like Miroslav Volf and Munther Isaac. Meet our fellows and learn more here.
The Neighbor-Love Movement: NLM invites Ethiopian youth to see “others” as precious neighbors rather than dehumanized enemies. We launched NLM soon before the Ethiopian civil war erupted in 2020. Since then, over 3,000 youth have signed our Covenant and 22 million people have encountered our message. Visit NLM here.
Tekalign Nega’s Writing: Tekalign’s book Balinjeraye (“My Neighbor”) was the first on neighbor love in any Ethiopian language. His writing engages the most explosive, polarizing issues in Ethiopia with deep sensitivity and insight. He is finishing books on how to reconcile identity and cultivate hope. Contact Tekalign and subscribe to his newsletter Radical Listening here.
